Demolition begins for Midtown apartment project

Eduardo Sanchez Borja is moving forward with his redevelopment of 569 N. McLean Blvd, near North Parkway and across from Snowden School.

Demolition began Aug. 5 on the existing building, which will be replaced with seven apartments and a 1,000-square-foot retail space. The project is set to be completed in early 2021, according to architect and project manager Austin Magruder of PKM Architects.

The development was originally set to include 12 apartments; some were removed to make way for additional parking, Magruder said. The current plans were approved by the Memphis & Shelby County Board of Adjustment in October 2019.
